School is very busy but very productive right now...
Last week, EYFS & Key Stage 1 performed 'Children of the World' brilliantly! There were many teary eyed parents/carers in the audience...the children should be very proud of themselves - a great job!
This week, Key Stage 2 perform 'The Good, the Bad and the Donkey'...and it is going to be a cracker! We have had several absences through illness and both staff and children are coping magnificently...I can't wait to see it this afternoon (and then again tomorrow evening).
Remember, school tea-towels will be on sale as well as raffle tickets, so be sure to bring some money!

Downsview disco delight!
In the famous words of, er...Frankie Valli I think -
'Oh...What a night!'
The recent PTA Christmas Disco was a blast! The children had a fabulous time and enjoyed dancing, singing, party games and a visit to Santa's grotto...do I dare even mention 'Gangnam Style'?!
Well, pictorial evidence does prove that the children had a great night...see below!
Thank you to everyone in the PTA for fantastic evening...the smiles on the faces of the children at the end said it all!

Downsview 'tea-towel' goes on sale!
Going on sale next week is the Downsview Primary School Tea-Towel!
The tea-towel features a self portrait of every child in the school, along with the faces of all staff members too...it is brilliant!
At just £3 per tea-towel (or two for £5), they are the perfect surprise gift!
The tea-towel makes me smile every time I look at it...the art work is great fun! Go on, get your order in!
Tea-towels will be available at all Christmas performances over the next two weeks (and we hope some will be available at the PTA Christmas Shop too).

Tuesday 4th December...(almost lunch time!)
Today, our school kitchen will be serving Christmas Dinner...and the children can't wait to tuck in!
The Christmas Tree is now proudly up and the nativity scene has been created...
Rehearsals are going well, and I can often hear the beautiful singing from the hall.
Despite all the Christmas build up, I'm pleased to report that there is still lots of good learning happening. :)

Archie (Kent Fire Safety) visits Downsview...
Archie has just finished the Key Stage 1 assembly and is now working with Year 3 & 4 children. After break, Archie will be working with Year 5 & 6 children.
Being safe and knowing what to do in an emergency could save lives...I hope the children remember the messages that are being discussed today.
Thanks to Archie for his time and expertise!

Just a quick update to let you know that currently Archie (from Kent Fire Services) is in school speaking to all the children about the importance of 'Fire Safety'.
